New Electronic Device
Following the launch of the second generation eASG EVO and UD EVO electromechanical safety gear, Dynatech is now introducing the Coil Controller Box (CCB) to simplify and facilitate the management of the electronic connection of our electromechanical safety gear (both first and second generation) to any SIL3 electronic overspeed governor on the market.
This compact electronic device acts as an interface between the electromechanical safety gear and the SIL3 speed governor, taking full advantage of all their functionalities.
Its main features are:
- Power management and disconnection of the reset coils
> The CCB energises the reset coils for the time necessary after their disconnection, thus enabling safe operation due to the integrated safety contacts that monitor their status.
- Automatic coil power reset attempts
> If the reset fails to execute properly on the first attempt, the CCB performs several more attempts, while constantly monitoring the safety gear status. If the reset is unsuccessful after these attempts, for example, due to a mechanical obstruction or incorrect equipment installation, the system will enter safe mode and activate the fault output.
- Automatic periodic self-check tests
> The CCB performs a weekly test to ensure that the safety gear is functioning correctly, once the lift is stopped and safe.
- Status log
> By connecting to our CCB, you can view and download a log for the previous 330 days. This provides data such as the percentage lift motor usage per hour, the number of safety gear activations and weekly test status.
- Safety gear status feedback
> Output indicating whether or not the safety gear is correctly reset in real time
- Simple, multi-platform wiring
> It is only necessary to connect the safe output of the chosen SIL3 system to our CCB, along with the MOTOR signal from the lift installation and connections to both sides of our safety gear.
Installing the CCB is not essential or mandatory, as our entire range of electromechanical safety gear is directly compatible with any SIL3 electronic overspeed system on the market. However, it has been designed for all those installers, control panel manufacturers and complete lift manufacturers who are not accustomed to using this technology or who do not have much experience in assembling these systems; thus, greatly simplifying the connection and reducing installation times. It also ensures full utilisation of all the advantages the electromechanical safety gear can provide, compared to the traditional or mechanical option.
